CSOs trained to monitor enterprise and industrial policy
 
During the months of April and May 2018, a series of 6 one-day trainings for monitoring and evaluation of the policies for enterprises and industrial policy were held at the premises of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia. The training program consisting of 6 one-day trainings was created by the newly-formed "Chapter 20" Platform, which aims to support and actively engage in the reform process of negotiating Chapter 20.
 
The training program was created in line with the needs of the civil society organizations and institutions involved in the reform process Chapter 20 and aims to strengthen the capacities of the civil sector to monitor and evaluate policies.
 
A total of 75 representatives from 30 organizations and institutions actively participated in the trainings and successfully completed the program for strengthening their capacities. The trainings were led by carefully selected experienced domestic and foreign experts, in order to transfer knowledge and practices both from the country and from Europe.
 
The training program consisted of the following topics:
  • Monitoring and evaluation of policies
  • Innovation policy and evaluation
  • Methodology for policy research and drafting policy papers
  • Design of a smart specialization strategy
  • Circular Economy: Policies and Practices
  • Industrial evidence-based policy
According to the evaluation reports of the participants, the CSO training program for developing monitoring, evaluation and advocacy skills in the area of Chapter 20, successfully achieved the goal. Furthermore, it can be concluded that the trainings were very useful in building the capacities of the civil society organizations. Most of the participants rated the quality of the trainings with the highest rating and show great satisfaction with the content of the trainings: presentations, practical exercises and interaction. The participants rated the trainers with the highest grade and the opportunity to share personal experiences.
 
In addition, for all stakeholders, the trainings were streamed online via live stream on the website www.yes-network.org.
 
Six  short educational videos will be created that will correspond to the topics presented in the trainings very soon and they will be part of the content of the resource center www.poglavje20eu.org.
 

The activities implemented are part of the project "Strengthening capacities and mechanisms for supporting Chapter 20 reform processes (YESNetwork +)" funded by the European Union through the IPA Program for
Civil Society Facility and Media Programme 2015.
